Instron

A universal testing system for mechanical characterization of soft actuators, artificial muscles, and compliant structures.

Instron universal testing system

The Instron 68SC-1 is a 1 kN single-column universal testing system used for mechanical characterization of soft actuators, artificial muscles, and compliant structures. Equipped with interchangeable load cells and pneumatic grips, the system enables precise force and displacement measurements over a wide range of loading conditions. Bluehill Universal software supports programmable mechanical testing and data acquisition, while an integrated TestCam system enables synchronized video recording and analysis.

Highlights

  • 1 kN load-frame capacity with 5 N, 50 N, and 500 N interchangeable load cells.
  • Supports tension, compression, flexure, creep, relaxation, and cyclic testing.
  • Includes pneumatic side-action grips, three-point bending fixtures, and 640 mm crosshead travel with the pneumatic grips installed.
  • Integrated TestCam system supports synchronized HD video recording and frame-by-frame analysis with mechanical test data.
