QDD Motor Characterization Machine
A custom test stand for characterizing motor torque, speed, efficiency, and performance under programmable loads.

This custom test stand characterizes motor performance, including torque constants, torque-speed curves, efficiency, and black-box models. The motor under evaluation is mounted to a rigid T-slot frame and connected through a dynamic torque sensor to a larger torque-controlled motor that applies a programmable load. By controlling both motors, the system can evaluate motor behavior across a wide range of operating conditions.

Highlights
- Uses an ATO-TQS-DYN-200 dynamic torque sensor to measure torque and rotational speed in real time.
- Applies programmable loads with a RobStride 03 quasi-direct-drive actuator, rated for 20 Nm of torque with peaks up to 60 Nm.
- Characterizes torque constants, torque-speed curves, efficiency, and other motor properties.
- Supports motor selection, modeling, and controller development across a wide range of operating conditions.
